Picture: Charles EliasMORE than 40 residents attended last Saturday’s community meeting in Anna Bay vowing to take their battles beyond that of the 104-lot Fishermans Bay development.
Newly elected president Roz Scoles said in an overwhelming show of support, the former Anna Bay Residents Action Group has been renamed the South Tomaree Community Association.
“We want to widen our representation to cover One Mile Beach, Boat Harbour, Anna Bay and Fishermans Bay and we are in the process of incorporating,” she said.
“We formed our group initially to fight the UrbanGrowth residential development at Fishermans Bay and we understand to continue the fight we need a stronger voice. Many of those who turned out last Saturday took the opportunity to join the association at $10 per year. We raised around $380.”
Other committee positions went to Jenny Mason (treasurer), Gerry Mason (secretary) and Simone Aurino (public relations).
