NEW to the Wimmera Machinery Field Days in 2015 is the Gamadale Australian White Sheep Stud from Lascelles.
Owner Nip Rowney said he wanted to show people the Australian white sheep and rams,so producers could see the benefits of the breed.
“They are quieter than other breed and they are good on their legs and feet,” he said.
“They are a hair breed and have been going over all types of ewes.”

The stud is a newcomer to the market, and was only established about three years ago.
Mr Rowney said the Australia white breed was also fairly new, having been around for about four years.
“Their eating quality was really good and we wanted to come to the field days to show them to people,” he said.
“Lots of producers won’t know a lot about the breed and it’s a new venture for us.”
Mr Rowney said the breed was similar to dorpers.
“We have sold a rams all over the place, such as Millicent, Broken Hill and Bordertown,” he said.
“Possibly we will have a few more customers from the Wimmera after the field days.”
Mr Rowney said the stud had exhibited at a few field days before, but not at the Wimmera event.
