Fall costs Reed victory in Atlanta

An early race fall while contesting for the lead cost former world champion Chad Reed any chance of victory in round nine of the Monster Energy Supercross in Atlanta.

Kurri Kurri’s Reed resumed in 13th spotand managed to claw hisway back to finishseventh just behind his TwoTwo Motorsport teammate Josh Grant.

Reed had been chasing a podium finish to go with his victory at Atlanta’s Georgia Super Dome the week before and the Duel in the Dome title.

The round was won by Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey who has extended his lead at the top of the series.

Reed now sits sixth in the series and his recent form will have those above him nervous.
