Report on Pesticide Business
What is Pesticide?
A pesticide is a substance or mixture of substances used for preventing,
controlling, or lessening the damage caused by a pest. A pesticide may be a chemical substance, biological agent (such as a virus or bacteria), antimicrobial, disinfectant or device used against any pest.
There are multiple ways of classifying pesticides:
1. Fungicides:
Fungicides for the control of fungi and oomycetes. Most fungicides are applied
over a large surface area to try to directly hit every fungus.
2. Herbicides:
Herbicides for the control of weeds. These chemicals are a bit different from
other pesticides because they are used to kill or slow the growth of some
plants, rather than to protect them.
3. Insecticides:
Insecticides for the control of insects - these can be Ovicides (substances that
kill eggs). An insecticide may kill the insect by touching it or it may have to be
swallowed to be effective.
