STEPPING out of the comfort zone and getting active will be a big part of the upcoming Seniors Week.
The official launch of Seniors Week at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre on March 16 will highlight a weeklong event which will give residents the opportunity to discover a host of new interests.
Among them will be the opportunity to take part in health and wellbeing activities such as aqua aerobics, bushwalking and croquet as well a range of craft workshops and concerts.
The week will also feature two separate specially created Seniors Get Active events designed to provide the community with an overview of the many local physical, social and mental activities available.
The event will feature a number of stalls and displays featuring information on everything from Zumba and indoor bowls to pottery, arts, tennis, gardening clubs and much more.
Shoalhaven Mayor Joanna Gash said Seniors Week provided residents with the ideal opportunity to get active, learn a new skill and meet new friends.
“Council has again worked with a wide range of local organisations in creating a diverse and exciting calendar of events designed to get the area’s senior residents up and active.
“One of the highlights of the week will be the Seniors Get Active events to be held in both Nowra and Ulladulla.”
The Seniors Get Active event will be held at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre on Monday, March 16 from 10am to 1.30pm.
